Exoplanetia: Carinoa

Exoplanetia: Carinoa is a short story made to create a fleshed out alien world with full creative liberty in its conceptualization and workflow; all art and writing was done by myself.

Making this book involved conceptualizing each alien species to look believable while accounting for Carinoa’s environment. Each alien species was drawn as stills first and then put into an illustration. The question of how each aspect of the alien world could be different from Earth’s while being understandable was faced at each step of the process.

Exoplanetia: Carinoa is a combination of illustration, design and speculative biology. After it was self-published, its audience highly regarded the concepts within the exploration of this alien world.
